Under the theme of "History, Identity, Technology and Space", this exhibition intends to showcase a wide range of calligraphic works which are significant to our history and identity yet under different cultural background. It includes also a contemporary work inspired by the Islamic Calligraphy that demonstrate a state of artistic harmony in the exhibition. A calligraphy work " Ma Gu Xian Shou" by courtesy of the Huang Yao Collection in Singapore Art Museum is also presented in the Exhibition. Huang Yao (1917-1987) pioneering his work in creative calligraphy in the mid 20th century, was mentioned by Art historian Wang Nanming that his calligraphy painting predates modern calligraphy in mainland China.
